About Me
Hi! I'm Shayesha Weerakkody, a BSc (Hons) Geographical Information Science (GIS) graduate from the University of Peradeniya. I have strong academic training and hands-on internship experience in spatial analysis, remote sensing, thematic mapping, and geospatial data management.
Through academic research and professional training, I have applied GIS and satellite-based techniques to address real-world challenges in environmental, hydrological, and agricultural domains, with a particular focus on multi-criteria decision analysis and geospatial modelling.
My key interests include agricultural drought analysis, climate-smart agriculture zoning, environmental risk assessment, and sustainable land and water resource management. I am currently seeking an entry-level GIS or trainee position where I can grow professionally and contribute to evidence-based spatial decision-making.
